This government agency uses data and behavioural insights to drive improvements within government and providing services to NSW. 
 
About the Role:
The role provides specialist advice and qualitative analysis on the safety risk assessments and requirements of the Department’s ongoing large scale Engineering Projects, Safety Management System and statutory obligations, including documentation and reporting.
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide Project Teams and Engineering Consultants expert advice on risk management to ensure integration with requirements and support of the safety change management and operational safety risk management policies as well as the overarching Safety Management Systems in place.
  • Conducting Qualitative Risk Analysis and Risk Workshops with Project Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and support to internal staff and Engineering Consultants on the requirements of the Operational Risk Management System throughout the design, development and implementation phases of project management for new and/or upgraded assets.
  • Provide risk management advice to support and enable the achievement of effective risk-based decision making and the delivery of defined business outcomes.
  • Prepare reports to meet statutory obligations, internal requirements of the ASA the department, and Independent Verification Reports as required by the Safety Management System.
  • Deliver risk training material and assist in the development and review of various competency standards related to risk and oversee the delivery of training to staff throughout the department and Engineering Consultants
  • Determining the risks present in the projects and evaluating the procedures to minimize their impact. Including planning, monitoring, and controlling instances of risk.
  • Developing a risk management plan, detailing the risks and your processes for addressing them.
  • Assessing project risk and creating a plan around Safety Risk, Financial Risk, Legal risk, Project Risk, and environmental risks factors
About You:
  • 6+ years’ experience in risk management preferably in a project environment
  • Experience in construction, engineering, Consultancy with an emphasis on projects preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Having worked with Project Managers and Directors etc.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
