About the company

This NSW Health is a major service provider who strives to deliver a more consistent and efficient experience within government. The Institute supports and promotes best practice; working to ensure people across the state, no matter where they live, are provided the same high-quality treatment and care that is vital to optimising the outcomes and quality of life for people diagnosed with cancer.

About the role

This role sits with the cancer Services team working to support two key areas of need over the next 4+ months. The role will report directly to the Director with additional support for both Quality and System Performance, and Cancer Information and Analysis teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support cross organisational planning for integrating the three divisional program activities to determine a landscape of what is occurring in each LHD based on our available data and reporting already in existence.
  • Determine the evidence to support selected sequencing of treatments along the optimal care pathway.
  • Conduct and commission research such as comprehensive literature reviews, indicator development and qualitative research to inform the development of new indicators that align with the Optimal care pathway.
  • Collect, map, analyse and synthesise data identifying issues and risks and areas for continuous quality improvement for each LHD based on available reporting outputs.
  • Provide a range of project and research management and support services, including preparation of detailed project scopes and briefs, development and monitoring of project plans, coordinating resources, and monitoring milestones and deliverables, to support the achievement of project outcomes and Divisional objectives.
  • Support assigned projects from the concept phase to project closure, to ensure projects are undertaken effectively, within scheduled timeframes and on budget, whilst achieving agreed targets.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross organisational team to bring together available information and data to prepare for more detailed planning and identification of variation in the LHDs.
  • Delivering multiple project initiatives and outcomes within tight time frames given the need to manage competing priorities and resourcing.
  • Identifying and communicating trends, issues and practices to inform project management and decisions given the need to maintain currency of expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects and programs.
  • Conducting literature reviews, synthesis of evidence and conducting qualitative research, such as interviews and focus groups.
