This NSW government agency is a major service provider who strives to deliver a more consistent and efficient experience within government. This government agency uses data and behavioural insights to drive improvements with government and providing services to NSW.
The Systems and Network Support/Administrator provides technical support for the daily operation of the organisation’s ICT systems.  The role is responsible for the installation, monitoring and maintenance of the organisation’s ICT network, hardware and software. 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Ensure a high level of ICT support is always provided to customers.
  • Manage the use of agreed tools and methods to address and resolve user identified problems.
  • Escalate performance issues with internal/external providers to minimise adverse impact of systems availability.
  • Participate in out of hours emergency support as required.
  • Provide technical administration and leadership to customers on products, systems and configuration.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical support and user access.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on systems access and performance to meet the project and operational needs of the business.
  • Deploy local, wide area and core networking infrastructure solutions.
  • Assist with network monitoring and analysis; performance tuning, troubleshooting and escalating problems.
  • Perform operational procedures and tasks reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of unplanned outages.
  • Assist in the design, configuration and installation of video, voice and data infrastructure solutions.


About You

  • Strong working knowledge and experience working with network, server, and workstation diagnostic skills.
  • A minimum of 12-18 months experience in a Technical Support or similar role; Government experience advantageous.
  • A basic understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools.
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration (Active Directory, File Services, DNS and DHCP)
  • Experience with Exchange Online - Office 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and cloud hosted systems (Microsoft Azure).
  • Experience of diagnosing network and server issues, following them through to resolution.
  • Some exposure to scripting basics.
