About the Role
Support the optimal financial functioning of the State’s disaster expenditure funding by performing financial assurance and auditing of natural disaster expenditure incurred by state government agencies and local councils. This role is critical in providing assurance on the eligibility of NSW Government agency’s reimbursement claims against the State’s Disaster Relief Account and the State’s claim to the Commonwealth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct external audit of public sector entities financial statements alone or as part of a team
- Plan and conduct audit testing, identifying the most efficient methods of obtaining assurance required
- Evaluate misstatements and conclude whether balances and disclosures are materially correct
- Identify, assess, and document issues and recommend solutions
- Establish excellent working relationships with client staff of all levels
- Discuss issues with client management and obtain agreement on solutions
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation is maintained of audit work conducted
About you
- 2 years’ experience in External Audit
- Big 4 Experience desirable
- Sound knowledge of accounting and auditing standards required – preferably Australian standards
- Available for immediate start
- Good Communication both verbal and written
- Please note there will be travel required for this role with some regional travel required which will be paid for by client
