About the Role:

The Financial Analyst is responsible to contribute to the delivery of financial and business performance analytics and reporting across the organisation. Supporting the provision of commercial insight and strategic financial advice to key stakeholders to facilitate operational and strategic decision making including the provision of regular management reporting and forecasting.


  • Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting, Corporate Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, Management Reporting and Commercial Analytics
  • Conduct financial planning and analysis activities including the development of consolidated financial plans, budgets and forecasts for revenue, opex and capex across the organisation and business groups.
  • Produce analysis of organisational and business group performance including providing insight into key variances, deviations from plan and trends to inform future forecasts, identify potential risks and opportunities and understand the impact on resource and funding allocations
  • Collate and quality assure financial data for external reporting purposes including Annual Information Returns, Special Information Return, benchmarking, National Initiatives and ABS surveys.
  • Leverage commercial knowledge and insights to provide support as required to the Corporation's strategic planning activities including the optimisation of resources and funding.
  • Prepare summaries and workpapers to enable forecast reporting in the NSW Treasury reporting system.
  • Prepare financial data and analysis for business cases and support the identification and measurement of benefits
About You:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
  • Knowledge of the application of the Government Finance, Australian Accounting Standards
  • Broad understanding of relevant Government policies
  • Corporate budgeting and reporting system (TM1)
  • Financial Management Information System (FMIS)
  • Hands on experience with Various modelling tools.
  • Expertise in a management reporting, budgeting and Finance business partnering role
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting principles and practices
