About the Company

Ashdown People is a specialized Talent Management Consultancy, operating nationally within the Technology & Analytics, Business Support, MarComms and Accounting & Finance spaces across all industries. This role will encompass end to end financial management of the business. You will provide financial leadership and work closely with senior and external stakeholders to ensure the optimization of the finance function and drive business results.

About the Role

This position reports to the General Manager and will cooperate with department managers and the Managing Director. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong interpersonal and leadership skills who can demonstrate tangible examples of improving finance functions, systems, and procedures. You will ideally have previous experience in managing and developing a small team.

Core duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports taking to trial balance
  • Preparing reports to the auditors on regular basis
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT, Super and Payroll tax
  • Administration of all Payroll, AP and AR
  • Managing, leading, and developing our small but growing finance team
  • Maintaining and improving existing performance dashboards for key staff
  • Partner with the senior leadership team on strategic growth initiatives
  • Lead various projects including significant integrations, as well as the implementation of any new systems and upgrades.
  • Ensure all legal obligations and licensing is up to date
  • Maintain the asset register
  • Prepare cash forecasts, participate in planning and budgeting processes, and provide advice regarding financial and investment opportunities
  • Assist with internal controls pertaining to cash, sales transactions, collections, inventory, expense authorization and payroll.
About You

You are CA/CPA qualified, a high achiever and looking to fast track your career in 2022. You have been well trained in either commerce or chartered, have strong technical financial accounting and reporting expertise and enjoy managing and mentoring your own team. This organization is fast paced, dynamic, performance orientated and will support the right person to develop further and offer future career growth.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • CPA or CA qualified
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced level Excel skills
  • MYOB Experience is essential
  • End to end payroll experience essential
  • Have high attention to detail and a focus to complete all work with accuracy
  • Has a professional phone manner and maintains a professional demeanour
  • Has good time management skills. enjoy working in a thriving, fast paced environment
