This NSW government agency is undergoing a major uplift of its Procurement reporting functions and investing in their future by upgrading their data analytics processes to provide more streamlined procurement spend analysis and categorisation of data across a variety of the Government’s departmental clusters.
About the role
Sitting within the Procurement Transformation Team, the Data Analyst is responsible for providing data analysis, data modelling and procurement advisory services across the different Government departments through business partnering and the development of a variety of data models categorizing large data sets surrounding procurement spending and categorization. The Data Analyst will need to use Advanced Excel skills, Power BI, Alteryx, and SQL to conduct their data analysis.
Procurement data analysis and reporting to identify areas of opportunity and assist executives in their decision making.
Develop data models and consolidating large amounts of data across the clusters.
Provide advice on commercial procurement strategies, spend analysis and recategorization of procurement data.
Supervise analysts to recategorize, model and analyse data as part of the transformation program.
Undertake research, cost modelling and analysis of supply markets to identify opportunities and inform sourcing strategies
Populate and maintain complex databases and apply analytical tools, techniques, and systems to analyse and interpret a wide range of supplier and spend information to support procurement planning and decision making.
Assist in the development of useful procurement and category management strategies
Experience in data analytics, data extraction, data manipulation, and consolidation of large data sets from a variety of sources.
3+ Years’ experience as a or Data Analyst or Procurement Analyst.
Experience in large corporate environment preferably within Government.
Advanced Excel skills, Power BI, ETL tools like Alteryx & SQL tools with the ability to develop complex Data Models.
Immediately available candidates preferred.
Must have Permanent Residency or Citizenship
