Technical Business Analyst
 
Contract Duration:  Until March 2027
Day Rate: $900 - $940 p/day + Super
Location:  Sydney CBD (Hybrid Model)
 
Overview:
The Technical Business Analyst will play a key role within the Technology Group's Infrastructure and Operations team, supporting the delivery of End User Compute (EUC) initiatives across the organisation. The role is responsible for eliciting, analysing and managing functional and non-functional requirements, translating business needs into clear technical specifications, and supporting the design, build and implementation of solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, project teams and external suppliers, the position will facilitate workshops, perform gap analysis, and contribute to large-scale device and EUC deployments across geographically dispersed sites
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Elicit, analyse and manage functional and non-functional requirements throughout the systems delivery and operational lifecycle, with a focus on End User Compute (EUC).
  • Demonstrate experience working with suppliers, maintaining strong supplier relationship management.
  • Provide input and oversight for changes to and implementations of the End User Compute environment.
  • Plan and drive the scoping, gathering and definition of functional and non-functional business requirements, using a broad range of engagement techniques and analysing existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Engage and collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritise requirements, identify potential risks and propose viable technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical and non-functional specifications using best-practice business analysis methodologies to ensure technical teams receive clear and concise requirements. This includes creating detailed documentation such as use cases and user stories, and ensuring traceability between business and technical requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, map requirements to system functionality, conduct gap analysis, and support development teams and business stakeholders throughout the design, build and implementation process to ensure solutions are delivered to the required standards.
  • Manage ongoing communication with key stakeholders to ensure business needs remain aligned with proposed solutions and maintain traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support a safe working environment and contribute to an organisational safety culture consistent with the Commission's Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems and processes, including participation in agency-wide safety initiatives and plans.
Key Requirements:
 
 
  • A Technical Business Analyst with a solid understanding of End User Compute (EUC), including compute environments, hardware deployments and logistics, and Microsoft 365 (mandatory requirement).
  • Experience working on large-scale device/EUC deployments across multiple geographically dispersed sites.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
