Senior Procurement Officer is required to lead end-to-end procurement and contract management activities for major projects and service contracts. This role is key in ensuring compliance with government procurement legislation, policy, and probity standards while delivering value for money and supporting operational efficiency.
You’ll work closely with senior executives, project teams, and suppliers to deliver transparent, effective, and compliant procurement outcomes that support strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement function, including tendering, asset acquisition, and contract management.
- Provide expert advice on procurement processes, contract governance, and policy compliance.
- Contribute to project scoping, procurement planning, and the development of service delivery specifications.
- Oversee governance structures, risk registers, and probity plans.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure issues and complaints are resolved effectively.
- Prepare tender evaluation plans, reports, and recommendations for negotiation or acceptance.
- Support contract negotiations in collaboration with senior executives to achieve value for money.
- Draft and present high-quality documentation, including reports, submissions, and briefing papers.
- Proven experience in public sector procurement and contract management.
- Strong understanding of government procurement frameworks, policies, and probity standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver high-quality procurement outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, law, or a related discipline(highly regarded).
