A large scale, core Federal Government Department is currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in ICT Projects to join a key digital division on a long-term contract at the EL1 equivalent level.

Responsibilities
- Supporting strategic business engagement and project initiation.
- Conducting pre-project analysis and discovery.
- Designing, leading, and/or facilitating workshops to ensure business requirements are captured.
- Producing high quality, concise, easy to read and relevant architecture and analysis documentation for digital services.
- Working in an Agile and iterative development approach that includes backlog management, PBI development and refinement, and facilitation of various Agile ceremonies, as required.
- Introducing, adapting, and maturing of Agile and iterative development approaches within delivery team/s.
- Proactively seek out and engage stakeholders, establishing and nurturing productive relationships.
- Leading and mentoring business analysts and establishing business analyst-related standards and best practices within the delivery team/s.
- Sharing outcomes, knowledge and experience with other business analysts in the section.
- Utilising expert level knowledge of best practices to uplift capability maturity and governance practices.
- Be responsive, flexible, and work collaboratively as part of an agile team.
- Assisting project teams achieve objectives that align with departmental, divisional, and sectional priorities.
Essential
- A minimum of 10 years’ work experience as a business analyst, service designer or technical writer, using various Agile techniques and methodologies.
- Experience in facilitation and collaboration with recent examples of designing, leading, and/or facilitating workshops to ensure business requirements are captured.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, concise, easy to read and relevant architecture and analysis documentation for digital services.
- Experience working in an Agile and iterative development approach. Including backlog management, PBI development and refinement, and facilitation of various ceremonies as required.
- Demonstrated experience in the introduction, adoption, and maturing of Agile and iterative development approaches within delivery team/s.
- Ability to independently seek out and engage stakeholders, establishing and nurturing productive relationships.
- Experience in leading and mentoring business analysts and establishing business analyst-related standards and best practices within the delivery team/s.
- Strong relationship building, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in data analysis, modelling and/or projects related to the management of scientific and/or statistical data. Experience using Microsoft Power BI would be beneficial.
