A government department is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Finance Business Partner to provide high-level financial and accounting advisory services, with a focus on unearned revenue and contract management.
About the role:
- Review, register, and reconcile external contracts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in line with government guidelines and accounting standards
- Develop and implement processes for managing contractual obligations and unearned revenue liabilities
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, monthly financial reports, dashboards, and statements to support decision-making
- Provide expert advice on financial performance, cash management, savings targets, and business monitoring
- Coordinate funding arrangements, participate in business case development, and research complex financial issues
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, providing guidance and professional advice to managers and teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive practical experience
- Membership or eligibility for a recognised professional accounting body (CPA / CA)
- Expertise in management reporting, budgeting, and finance business partnering
- Strong knowledge of government financial legislation, accounting standards, and policies
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
