We are looking for a Senior Cloud engineer with expertise in AWS and / or Azure with significant experience developing and running critical workloads in cloud environments. You will be building solutions within and applications that are critical to supporting operational and customer facing services across the client.
Skills and experience needed:
- Strong experience in AWS (or Azure)- Relevant certifications preferred
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of DevOps principles, practises and supporting tools
- Experience implementing solutions on major Cloud Service Providers including AWS, Azure and a very good awareness of platform security concerns.
- Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline.
Essential requirements:
- Extensive experience in designing, securing and automating cloud infrastructure (Compute, networking), continuously optimizing resources as per cloud best practices
- Extensive Experience in AWS Core services, IAM, EC2, Auto Scaling concepts, Launch Templates/Configurations, Load Balancing (ALB/ELB/NLB), Security Hub and a solid understanding of the shared responsibility model in AWS.
- Strong understanding of DNS concepts and AWS networking, particularly Route 53's features and capabilities
- Strong understanding of Security and Networking, Monitoring and Logging, Resiliency and High Availability
- Experience with other AWS services such as Route53, Lambda, S3, Kinesis Firehose etc.
- In depth DevOps Experience including infrastructure as code (IaC) like Terraform Cloud, CloudFormation, ARM Templates and DevOps tools like Azure DevOps
- Adept at implementing, and managing scalable and resilient infrastructure, including setting up autoscaling groups, defining scaling policies, and ensuring proper security and network configurations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, written and oral communication skills with proven success to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
