Rate:$38–$40 per hour + super
Contract: Full-time, 1-year contract (end date: 06 May 2027)
Work Arrangement: Minimum 5 days on-site per fortnight
About the Role
We are seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join a government team as Registry Assistant.
In this role, you will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support, ensuring all client interactions are handled professionally, efficiently, and with care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service via phone and email
- Respond to enquiries from marriage service customers
- Process registrations for births, deaths, marriages, and relationships
- Review and assess legal and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using systems such as Salesforce
- Verify statutory declarations and supporting documentation
- Assist with operational tasks including payment processing
- Maintain databases and records in line with compliance and records management standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in customer service or administration
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using CRM systems (Salesforce experience highly regarded)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional and empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive matters
- Supporting vulnerable customers with empathy and professionalism
- Managing high-volume workloads with competing deadlines
- Communicating clearly with diverse customers from varied backgrounds
