We are seeking a Project Officer to deliver a statewide Healthy Food Information Service (HFIS). The role focuses on supporting schools and health facilities to implement, monitor, and improve healthy food and drink initiatives.
You will assess school canteen menus against healthy eating guidelines, provide practical advice to canteen operators, and support improvements in menu compliance. The role also includes managing enquiries, maintaining service records, and contributing to monitoring, reporting, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct menu assessments for school canteens and provide clear guidance for improvement
- Support canteen operators to meet healthy eating standards
- Respond to phone and email enquiries regarding healthy food initiatives
- Maintain accurate service records and contribute to reporting activities
- Support continuous quality improvement of service delivery
- Collaborate flexibly across projects as required
- Experience in delivering health promotion programs, preferably in childhood or nutrition-related settings
- Knowledge of obesity prevention, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion, especially for children and young people
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prepare reports and work with service data
- Collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach to work
