Project Manager (Capital Works) - Roads, Traffic & Stormwater
 
Duration: 12 Months
Hourly Rate: $65-85/hr + Super
Hours/Week: 35hrs
Location: St Peters
 
Position Overview
 
We are seeking an experienced Property Project Manager to lead the planning, design, procurement, and delivery of capital works and property-related projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes, budgets, quality standards, and legislative requirements.
The successful candidate will provide expert project management, contract administration, stakeholder engagement, and risk management services while contributing to the development and delivery of long-term capital works programs.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, procurement, and delivery of capital works and property projects from concept through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Manage project feasibility assessments, approvals, design development, tendering processes, consultant and contractor engagement, and contract administration activities.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, variations, schedules, compliance requirements, and stakeholder expectations, while ensuring adherence to WHS and legislative obligations.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and providing advice to stakeholders and management on project outcomes and opportunities.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, financial forecasts, and governance materials, while maintaining accurate project records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Asset Management, Building, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Asset Management, Building, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering capital works, infrastructure, property, or building projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong project management, procurement, contract administration, budget management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with experience preparing reports and managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and corporate financial or project management systems.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
Desirable Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications and/or membership of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) or a similar professional body.
  • Experience using AutoCAD for capital works design and review.
  • Knowledge of local government operations, asset management practices, and infrastructure delivery programs.
