Seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan, manage and deliver sustainable infrastructure capital works across roads, stormwater and transport assets. This role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, from scoping and stakeholder engagement through to construction, commissioning and post-project review.
You will lead project teams, manage consultants and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, while aligning with Council’s Community Strategic Plan and broader organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver infrastructure capital works projects across roads, stormwater and transport assets
- Lead project control groups and manage project scoping, design, procurement, construction and commissioning
- Manage contractors and consultants, including contract administration and performance monitoring
- Deliver projects in line with quality, cost, time, safety, environmental and governance requirements
- Prepare project documentation including business cases, technical reports and contract documentation
- Manage project budgets, forecasts and reporting, ensuring alignment with annual budget allocations
- Contribute to asset management plans, infrastructure strategies and forward capital works programs
- Support grant-funded infrastructure projects, including grant applications and compliance
- Engage effectively with internal stakeholders, government agencies, community groups and the public
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and risk management requirements
- Represent Council professionally, including providing expert advice and evidence when required
Capable and confident infrastructure Project Manager with strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable working in a local government environment and can balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes for the community.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure projects from concept to delivery
- Strong experience in design and construction of civil infrastructure
- Proven skills in project management, procurement and contract administration
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong budget management and financial reporting experience
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence
- Experience working in a local government environment
- Understanding of the social, political and legislative frameworks of local government
- Experience with continuous improvement or business excellence frameworks
