Overview
The primary objective of the Cyber Uplift Programme is future proofing to deliver, safe, secure and tamper free projects against escalating cyber threats.
This role reports to the Cyber Programme Manager and be accountable for delivery Essential 8 capability as agreed with the Programme Owner.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of the agency's Essential 8 cyber security controls uplift in close partnership with Enterprise Security Architect, project team and external suppliers to deliver planned work across the division.
This role provides hands-on leadership to multidisciplinary technical delivery team ensuring that mitigation controls are implemented consistently across hybrid environment in alignment with ASD ISM and ACSC Essential 8 framework.
Key accountabilities:
- Accountable to the Programme Manager for overall delivery of the Cyber security projects for the implementation of Essential 8 controls and other Cyber uplift initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, tasks, and resource requirements and impacts.
- Provide status reporting updates and reports to track progress of controls rollout.
- Facilitate communication and` collaboration among technical and business stakeholders.
- Manage resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and infrastructure.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the implementation.
- Lead efforts to ensure smooth adoption of Essential 8 controls and capability.
- Establish and maintain quality standards throughout the project in line with EPMO project governance and liaise with EPMO.
- Address issues and conflicts promptly to minimise disruptions.
- Coordinate, manage and drive external suppliers/vendors and consultants involved in the project delivery.
- Support change management capability for transition of project outcomes into BAU.
- Balancing technical cyber outcomes with business priorities and resources, setting realistic expectations and ensuring business needs can be met.
- Translating technical and complex information into meaningful insights and recommendations to effectively influence a diverse range of key stakeholders with varying expectations.
- Overcoming organisational resistance for changing entrenched processes in strengthening cyber security controls
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in the delivery of cyber projects
- Demonstrated experience delivering multi-stream cybersecurity projects across enterprise or government environment.
- Proven ability to manage the delivery of Essential 8 controls and capability, specifically Application Control, Data Loss Prevention, Macros,MFA and Privileged Access Management
- Experience in managing multiple external suppliers for concurrent deliveries
- Experience supporting change management capability for transition of project outcomes into BAU.
- Experience in collaborating with and influencing stakeholders to manage expectations and reach agreement amongst the stakeholders
- Experience in building technical implementation schedules and providing regular status tracking. Preferably, extensive experience in Windows and Microsoft environments such as Entra ID.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
