Overview:
In this role, you will assist in delivering footpath, road, stormwater and traffic facility projects, as well as the maintenance of key community assets such as bridges and retaining structures. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors and service providers to ensure works are completed safely, on time, within budget and in line with quality and legislative requirements.

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to support the planning, delivery and coordination of the City’s annual capital works and maintenance programs, ensuring high-quality civil infrastructure for our residents and businesses.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet required outcomes and customer service standards.
• Assist with the delivery of capital works and infrastructure maintenance programs in line with budgets, quality measures and agreed timeframes.
• Undertake site safety audits and prepare clear written and verbal project reports.
• Engage with contractors and suppliers to support annual works program delivery.
• Assist in preparing tender documentation and evaluating contracts for goods and services.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate risks related to time, cost, quality, safety, reputation and community impacts.
• Communicate project scope, progress and updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
About You:
You will bring a strong understanding of civil construction, project coordination and contractor management, along with the ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for the community.
You Will Need:
• A university degree or TAFE Diploma in civil engineering, project management, contract management or a related discipline; or a trade qualification with demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Experience in designing and/or delivering civil works, with knowledge of project lifecycle stages.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to liaise across all levels.
• Understanding of financial management principles relating to construction and contractor performance.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement processes, contract management and audit controls.
• Current NSW Class C driver’s licence
