About the Role
A local government organisation is seeking an experienced Parks Project Manager/Landscape Architect to lead the delivery of capital works projects across parks, reserves, sports fields, and open spaces. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong project management, design, and stakeholder engagement skills, who is passionate about creating sustainable and community-focused public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of parks capital works projects, from scoping and design to construction and completion.
- Lead landscape architecture and design processes, including in-house and consultant-led projects.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, approvals, tenders, and procurement in line with Council policies.
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure projects meet quality, safety, budget, and timeline targets.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including community consultation and reporting.
- Monitor project budgets and prepare regular progress and financial reports.
- Identify and manage risks, including public safety and liability issues.
- Support grant applications and manage grant-funded projects.
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in capital works delivery, including procurement, budgeting, and contract management.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools, CAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Local Government experience and open space infrastructure knowledge (desirable).
