About the Role
The Learning & Development Specialist helps build the skills and capability of staff across this Local Council. You will design, deliver and coordinate a range of training programs, manage our Learning Management System (LMS), and support managers with learning solutions that meet workforce needs. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, managing multiple projects, and creating learning experiences that make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver training programs, including mandatory, technical and leadership courses.
- Coordinate training schedules, logistics, communication and resources.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure accurate training records and reporting.
- Keep learning documents up to date in Council’s content management system.
- Review training programs and suggest improvements.
- Build and manage the annual training calendar.
- Support and guide other team members when required.
- Work with managers to identify skills gaps and recommend learning solutions.
- Assist with monitoring training budgets and managing training contracts.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external training providers.
- Follow WHS policies and maintain safe work practices.
- Qualifications in adult education, learning and development, organisational development or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programs.
- Ability to use data to understand learning needs and recommend solutions.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Experience working with senior managers and providing development advice.
- Good decision-making skills and ability to manage several programs at once.
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
