ICT Project Officer
 
12-Month Contract | $500-$650 per day + Super
Council ICT Projects | Infrastructure & Software Delivery
 
We are seeking an experienced and proactive ICT Project Officer for a 12-month contract opportunity supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of ICT projects and initiatives across Council.
 
This role will suit a highly organised project professional with strong ICT delivery experience, excellent stakeholder engagement capability, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced operational environment. Working closely with the ICT Program Manager, you will help drive project governance, delivery coordination, reporting, and communication activities across both technology and business teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
ICT Project Delivery & Coordination
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of ICT software and infrastructure projects in line with approved scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Apply consistent project management methodologies, tools, templates, and governance frameworks across the ICT project portfolio
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, reports, dashboards, risk registers, and project documentation
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, and dependencies to support successful outcomes
  • Support effective resource planning and workload coordination across projects and operational activities
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with ICT teams, business units, vendors, and key stakeholders
  • Provide clear and timely project status updates, reporting, and communications
  • Facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support organisational change activities and user adoption following project deployment
Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure project activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, standards, and Council governance requirements
  • Track and monitor project budgets and expenditure reporting
  • Contribute to project performance evaluation, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify project-related training and capability uplift requirements where appropriate
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Extensive experience delivering ICT software and infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and reporting practices
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience supporting organisational and cultural change within technical environments
  • The ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and business units
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Essential Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, Change Management, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated ICT project management experience across software delivery and infrastructure environments
  • Experience coordinating project schedules, resources, risks, budgets, and reporting
  • Current Class C Driver Licence
Desirable
  • PRINCE2, PMP, PMBOK or related project/program management certification
  • Change Management certification such as PROSCI or CHAMPS2
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and contemporary ICT project delivery tools
