In this role you will work on:
The role builds networks and knowledge across business areas to support the development, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of governance frameworks, assurance and compliance programs, and to promote ethical standards and mitigate risks across the Department.
- Create and establish the project governance framework, tools and processes, as well as manage the implementation and tracking of governance requirements for various forums.
- Lead the project compliance discipline, including development of key frameworks, processes and documentation to drive rigour and consistency of practice as they relate to project probity such as confidentiality and conflicts of interest.
- Coordinate and deliver Infrastructure project assurance including Gateway Reviews, Health Checks and Deep Dives, as well as fulfil reporting requirements.
- Oversee and support the progressive development, implementation, and effective operation of compliant and fit-for-purpose records management practices for the project ensuring retention of knowledge and records of key decisions
- Advise project leadership and workstreams on best-practice governance, compliance and assurance based on appropriate evidence and research, and a thorough understanding of governing framework, strategic policy context and operational environment.
- Partner with divisions, including the Project Management Office and Governance, Risk and Compliance team, to ensure the project meets relevant requirements.
- Manage the change management process, including coordination of project change committees, documentation of recommendations, change analysis, options identification, stakeholder workshops and communication to develop a team consensus and achieving executive buy-in and disseminating outcomes.
- Oversee coordination of reporting to ensure reporting cycles are met for key forums including the Project Control Group, Steering Committee, Board and other external Agencies. Ensure that reported data is accurate and fully integrated across multiple workstreams and entities and produced to a standard that is suitable to support executive-level decision making
- Previous State Government experience in a governance, risk, or compliance role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated professional experience in corporate governance, compliance, audit, risk management, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks, assurance programs, and compliance reviews for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong ability to advise and partner with senior stakeholders, ensuring adherence to best practices and mitigating project risks.
- Experience coordinating change management processes and reporting cycles, ensuring executive-level decision-making is supported with accurate and timely data.
- Knowledge of records management and documentation control practices for project environments, ensuring compliance and retention of key decision-making records.
