About the Role
A local council is seeking a motivated Environmental Project Officer
to join its Environment team. You will deliver projects and programs that promote sustainability, environmental health, and community engagement. Working closely with the community, stakeholders, and internal teams, you’ll help protect and enhance the local built and natural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate environmental and sustainability projects.
- Monitor and report on sustainability initiatives to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Deliver climate change and water-saving programs.
- Support sustainable building management and resource use.
- Engage and educate the community through workshops, events, and programs.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and educational materials.
- Maintain records, budgets, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- Relevant experience in local government or environmental projects.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability issues and legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C).
