Events and Activations Support Officer

About the Role
This local council is looking for a motivated and community-focused Events and Activations Support Officer to join our City Events and Activations Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the planning and delivery of high-profile events and activations, as part of a dynamic and passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support in the coordination and delivery of major Council events across the calendar year.
- Liaise with stallholders, vendors, community groups, and internal teams to ensure seamless event operations.
- Manage logistics such as quotes, invoices, requisitions, event documentation, and customer inquiries.
- Attend site meetings and assist in on-the-ground event delivery.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of Council’s Events Framework, ensuring consistency and quality across all events.
- Represent Council at community-led events throughout the region.
- WFH 2 days a week and be flexible. Also able to drive a van to take event equipment when needed.
- Previous experience in event coordination or event administration, ideally within local government or the community sector.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with raising purchase orders and processing invoices using online systems (e.g. TechOne or similar).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends as required.
- A collaborative and adaptable mindset with a genuine interest in community engagement and event delivery
