A NSW Government Department is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Officer to join a busy team delivering essential services to the community.
This is a fast-paced administrative role supporting operational teams through inbox management, customer and stakeholder communications, data entry, record management, and general administrative support. The successful candidate will be highly organised, customer-focused, and capable of managing competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and allocate correspondence from shared email inboxes.
- Update and maintain customer, stakeholder, and service provider records.
- Respond to administrative enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting papers, agendas, and minutes.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic records and filing systems.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating administrative activities.
- Provide general administrative support to operational teams.
- Support project-related activities, research tasks, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and service standards.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Strong data entry and record management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience managing shared inboxes and handling high volumes of correspondence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to deal professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Previous experience working within NSW Government or a large public sector organisation.
- Experience supporting customer-facing or service delivery teams.
- Familiarity with records management systems and administrative processes.
