Contract:  Initial 1 Month - Likely to extend
Location: Parramatta, NSW
Rate:$41 per hour + Super (PAYG)
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)
Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite (5 days per week)
 
About the Opportunity
 
A NSW Government Department is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Officer to join a busy team delivering essential services to the community.

This is a fast-paced administrative role supporting operational teams through inbox management, customer and stakeholder communications, data entry, record management, and general administrative support. The successful candidate will be highly organised, customer-focused, and capable of managing competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and allocate correspondence from shared email inboxes.
  • Update and maintain customer, stakeholder, and service provider records.
  • Respond to administrative enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting papers, agendas, and minutes.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic records and filing systems.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating administrative activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to operational teams.
  • Support project-related activities, research tasks, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and service standards.
About You
 
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • Strong data entry and record management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience managing shared inboxes and handling high volumes of correspondence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to deal professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience working within NSW Government or a large public sector organisation.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing or service delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with records management systems and administrative processes.
